Crane Fluid Systems Helps Crown Resorts Deliver Major Energy Savings

26 Oct 2026

Crane Fluid Systems has successfully supported Crown Resorts in improving HVAC efficiency across its Melbourne, Sydney and Perth facilities through the utilisation of ACTCS1 Smart Actuators and D997F E-PICV+ valves.

The project addressed energy losses caused by Low Delta T within Crown's heating and cooling systems, while maintaining guest comfort across its luxury hotel portfolio.

The results have been impressive, with the Melbourne site achieving:

  • 25% energy savings within three months
  • 8,550 tonnes of annual CO2 reduction, equivalent to removing around 1,850 cars from the road
  • Faster-than-expected return on investment

Reflecting on the project, Carl Backhouse, Executive General Manager MEP Engineering at Crown Resorts, said:

"We set out to achieve two outcomes that don't typically go hand in hand: meaningful carbon reduction and an unchanged guest experience. This project delivered both."

This successful collaboration demonstrates how Crane Fluid Systems' Connected Solutions are helping customers reduce energy consumption, lower emissions and advance their sustainability goals.
